Premier Wireless Hosts Open Discussion on School Safety

Web-Enabled Door Barricades Serve as Promising Solution

HOUSTON (Sept. 18, 2018) – With school safety a top concern, one local business owner is introducing a Web-enabled tool to improve security across Houston schools. Door barricades that lock and immediately notify administrators and police when engaged are receiving a warm welcome by school officials. The barricades’ Internet connection triggers the notice immediately, accelerating communication with security officials. The web-enabled barricades are powered by Sprint.

A complimentary lunch and learn to discuss school safety and Sprint’s new offering is being held this Wednesday and is open to school administrators, law enforcement and the media.

“While school shootings are top of mind, this Internet-connected door barricade protects students and staff in a variety of scenarios,” Lea Bogle, president of Premier Wireless, said. “Imagine a student being locked in a classroom with a bully. If the door barricade is activated, the authorities are immediately notified, bringing help to the victim.”

Sprint’s Vice President of Public Sector will join Bogle to present on these life-saving solutions as well as fundraising options that help schools offset the costs of these tools.
